The Business of Indie Rock

Come for the Peaks, Stay for the Valleys is the second full-length release from H is for Hellgate. Jamie Henkensiefken wrote all of the songs on the album. She is also the lead vocalist and plays guitar and keys. She is backed by Ben Baier (bass, vocals), David Thomas (guitar, vocals), and Marie Calderon keeps it all in time.

The CD chronicles a difficult year in the life of a young woman who made it through the breakup of a three year relationship - and the passing away of her father while on tour.

The impatient, guitar-driven, "indie-prog rock" songs are intricately crafted - the stamp Jamie Henkensiefken seems to leave on all the music she makes.

The new album releases in December, 2008 and was recorded at Avast! in Seattle by Mark Mercer - whose previous client roster includes Death Cab for Cutie, Built To Spilll and Modest Mouse. Mastered at RFI by Ed Brooks (Sleater Kinney, Minus the Bear, Chris Walla).
