Hands Up

Soak the Sin is HOT! Their beautifully produced 11 song debut CD The Work Is Done is strong – no wonder renowned musician Andy Rourke (The Smiths) is involved with the band! He plays bass on two tracks (‘I Said No’ and ‘Seven is Seven’) and he is also featured in Soak the Sin’s video for ‘I Said No’!. The original compositions and the cover of Smashing Pumpkins ‘Disarm’ ensnare the listener from the title track on through.

The four women from Skellefteå Sweden first took the stage as Soak the Sin in the year 2003 at Sweden’s International showcase event, Access All Areas. Helena Pettersson (vocals and guitar), Malin Ernestad (drums), Åsa Grundberg (bass) and Elin Dahlgren (lead guitarist) are amazing together and are earning a well deserved reputation as one of the hottest live acts in the country. No small accomplishment in such an exciting circuit.

The Work Is Done was released by Morphine Lane Records in the spring of this year. Soak The Sin chose to again work with Johan Nilsson (This Perfect Day) with the production. He skillfully captures the bands sound, style, attitude and overall energy.

In addition to their vast fan base in Sweden, Soak the Sin is beginning to make international waves. We hope their success brings them to the US in 2007!
